CenterPoint Intermodal Center - Houston, TX
CenterPoint Properties and the Kansas City Southern Railroad are jointly developing CenterPoint Intermodal Center - Houston, an 800-acre intermodal logistics park in Fort Bend County, 35 miles southwest of the city. The site is located in between Kendleton and Beasley, just outside the City of Rosenberg.
CenterPoint is the master developer of 636 acres that will support the development of large-scale distribution/warehouse, transloading, cross-dock, automixing, onsite container/equipment management and other rail-related uses. Phase I of the KCS intermodal facility, which at full build-out will span more than 100 acres, is under construction now and is on schedule to open April 2009. KCS will provide rail service, carload and intermodal, along their international intermodal corridor between the Port of Lazaro Cardenas through Mexico to Houston, TX.
The site is within minutes of I-59 which is slated to become I-69 or the future NAFTA Superhighway, with connections to I-10 and I-45 for regional distribution.
